The State of Wisconsin took censuses in 1885 and 1895. However, these just lists heads of households, plus numbers in categories such as male and female, or foreign born versus born in US. This is available on microfilm at the Oshkosh Public Library, through LDS Family History Centers, or on Interlibrary loan from the Wisconsin Historical Society. There is no overall index. They did a section for Civil War veterans, listing their regiment and company of service, plus post office as of census date. This is in book form at Oshkosh Public Library and many other larger libraries in Wisconsin. However, the early Oshkosh City Directories and the 1893 Winnebago County Directory may be of help to you. See http://www.oshkoshpubliclibrary.org/citydirs/welcome.html. 1893 is the first directory to cover Neenah, Menasha, Omro Winneconne and the countryside. The 1889 Illustrated Atlas of Winnebago County shows landowners; it is being digitized and will be on the web this fall.
