Would anyone have the time, and willing to look for a marriage for me, probably in Winnebago County, for a Rosanna (Rose) McALEER and a Grant McLEAN? I have already checked the Wisconsin Marriage index on Ancestry and they aren't there, but Winnebago County is not included in the index online. According to the census, they would have been married around 1886 to 1888. Their first and only child, Mary G. was born 15 June 1889 in Winnebago Co. Rose was living in Green Bay in 1880 so I believe she would have still been in Wisconsin when they married, and Rose was in Oshkosh in 1900. As a followup to my earlier request for Mary's birth record, I have now found an obituary for Rose in the Oshkosh Northwestern Daily on Ancestry, which gave me the death date of both Rose and her second husband Mathew SAMPSON, and their place of burial. Rose didn't have any more children. >From that obituary I also got the married name of her daughter, Mary. I have now found Mary in Montana in both 1920 and 1930, married to Ernest Erwin MALOY about 1923 and I have both their death dates, where they died, and the place and date of burial. They never had a family. Just my success story, thanks to Paula who got me the maiden name of Rose from the birth records. - Karen in BC Canada
