I have a book with the local area history and it has a photo of Magnus Bartel. The resort you mention is still there along the Wolf River, owned by Hahn's now for years ("Hahn-a-lula Resort"). From Fremont-Wolf River Area History, pp. 217-218: . . "Then in Nov., 1915 Mafnus & Alma Bartel became the new owners. Feb. 7, 1946 it was sold to Chester & Ruth Ulrich." "Under Magnus Bartel's ownership many improvements were made adn a new modern dance hall was constructed. Name bands played here for many years and large crowds came from all over central Wisconsin." On pg. 132 it mentions Harold Bartel, Jr., owning a Mobil Station and has paragraph or two about his family.
