This is so sad. Once again researchers are thwarted because of Differences of opinion. It is sad that people would pull their material from the WIGenWeb pages since the USGenWeb project was meant to be the place that researchers could depend on for the best information. Can't we do some compromising here? I would think that material had been submitted to the Winnebago page of the WIGenWeb project because of the project itself, not because of who was maintaining the web page at any particular time. If Jan had never had anything to do with the web page, would submitters not still have submitted their information? Is it fair to the project to pull information because of personality conflicts? I have worked with both Tina and Jan and have found them both extremely helpful and friendly. I believe this is exactly the type of thing that happened with the USGenWeb census projects and the reason that there are now 2 projects competing against each other instead of working together. As a researcher myself, I know that a split like this is helpful to no one and only serves to alienate people. Please think of what is happening to the project instead of personal feelings.
