Hi List, I have a bit of an issue, I'm hoping someone out there can clear up for me. I noticed in the 1893, Oshkosh Directory that my Alma Guild-Robbins-Brooks b. 1831(NY) is listed as widow of Enoch Brooks. It was my understanding from Enoch's obit that he died April 12, 1911, at the home of his son Elmer. I considered that we might be talking about two different Enoch Brooks, who just happen to be the same age, married a women by the same name, and were pioneer residents who served in the Civil War and were Engineers....but that seemed to be a little bit much. Is there anyone else working on this line who might be able to straighten me out? Enoch's marriage record to Alma (Guild) Robbins in 1875, states that his father was Stephen Brooks. I have information on Stephen's family line and everything in Enoch's obit matches up. So, I think I'm talking about the same Enoch Brooks. Problem is that I now have two different death dates for the (same?) person. I'm missing something here, I just can't seem to figure out what that "something" can be. Thanks, ~Michelle
