Has anyone tried getting any vital statistic info. from N.Y., if so, did you have any success? Looking for a marriage license from 1869-1871, no success in finding same in Illinois where my ggrandparents 1st. child was born in 1871, she was born in N.Y. and believe he arrived port of N.Y. around 1869, so last chance of finding any marriage info. w/be in N.Y. Tried getting her birth records back in 2001 and was told flat out that birth records are confidential and they are prohibited by law from issuing copies to be used for genealogical purposes, if deceased need to sennd a certified copy of death cert. and they w/evaluate my request. Can't send death cert. as she buried in unmarked grave in Eureka Cemetery Wisconsin, this according to my elderly father, cemetery assoc. has no record of her death. Just wondering if any success story experiences from this state, thanx for any info.
