    2. Hello. Yes, you can send me copies of the obits that you have and I can transcribe them to be posted on the Winnebago site. Just send them to me and I will get started. Michelle Ross P.O. Box 1772 Tucson, AZ 85702 Some of the obits that I have are already posted on the Winnebago site that I submitted to add. I just finished transcribing the rest of them and will be submitting them this weekend for posting. There will be over 2 hundred of them all together. You can take a look at the site and all of them show my address so you can tell which ones I submitted. I am not doing this for money. Just trying to help others who are searching for family members while doing mine at the same time. Please let me know if you are sending me copies and I can watch my mail for them. Thank you. Michelle

    2. Hello. Yes I have many Winnebago County obituaries. I don't have a scanner but can send you copies. Do you have a list of the obits you have, as well? (can I buy?) The obits I have were collected in our family and preserved by my grandmother throughout her life. I am now the keeper of the memorabilia.

    1. [WIWinneb'go] Obituary Transcriptions
    2. Last year I took a trip to Wisconsin and was able to do a lot of research on my family. In the process, I was able to find several obituaries and transcribe them to be put on the Winnebago site. With the copies I had been able to get of my family obits, there were many other obits of other people whom I did not know. Since I was transcribing my own obits, I decided to transcribe the others as well and added them to be posted along with my own with the intention of helping others who may be looking for some of these people. Do you have obits of your family members that has other obits listed as well? Are you wanting to share but don't have the time to transcribe them? If so I would be interested in transcribing them and having them posted to the Winnebago site to help other people looking for their family members. You can e-mail me direct and then send me the copies for transcribing. This service is free of charge.

Yes, it was Nedra who has a lot of info on our family. I got my James' baptism records - he was bap. in Nelson, New Brunswick, father Francis McCormick and mother Margaret Dowling. I also have Francis' baptism as 12/28/1828 in Nelson, son of Francis McCormick and Margaret Doran. I think Doran, Doolan and Dowling are all one and the same. Misread (best guess at handwriting) or written as it sounded as is often the case. Everything else matches. Have not found James in Oshkosh. He is also not listed with family in 1861 Nelson census (did he head out early only to die before they arrived? did he die or leave family before they left Canada?)

I got a lot from her but she hasn't been on-line for 6 months or so. Francis McCormick married Margaret Doolan in Ireland. Bridget b. 7 jan 1824 in Ireland. Came to America-probably N.B.Canada when she was 3. She was in Wisconsin before she showed up in Manistee with 1st husband Owen Finan.1850 (Michiklemac). 1860 and 1870 census shows her with 2nd husband Patrick Hogan in Manistee. Patrick died in 1871. Bridget was in Oshkosh in 1880 census. In 1900 she was living in Fond du Lac with my Grandma Mary Ann Mahoney and died soon after. Nedra listed her brothers as Francis and Bernhard. She didnt list James. However I can think of no other reason for Bridget to go to Oshkosh except that she had family there. You can access my tree on Rootsweb.com.Let me know if you feel that she was James 'sister and can I find your tree anywhere??? Thanks for any info.

She was the sister to my James who I have not been able to find in Oshkosh, but his wife (Mary) and family moved there in mid 1860's. I'm still trying to piece the family together after arriving in Wisconsin. Do you have info on the family because I have some going back and I corresponded with a woman who has quite a bit on Bridget herself.

Names are usually passed down through generations and I have a lot of Frances/Francis' in my McCormick family. My ggf John McCormick was born in Ireland 1832 to Peter and Margaret McCormick. We had many cousins that lived in the Oshkosh area. Who knows maybe my Peter and your Frances are related. Do you know where your McCormick's were from in Ireland?

    3. Have you found a Viola E. Mc CORMICK in your research. I believe that her middle name was Edna. She was born on 18 Aug 1883 in Fond du Lac county. She attended my grandmother's wedding on 24 September 1907. Another person there was Mrs. R.J. Mc CORMICK possibly Viola's mother. I am trying to track this information down because there is a possibility that my grandmother's mother was a McCormick instead of a Kant as some other records show. Makes a big difference in which line I research. That's all I have on McCormick's at this time. Thanks.
