There was a John W. Wines who died in 1899 in Langlade Co, WI. In 1870 Census they are in Fremont, Waupaca Co, WI with 6 children. In 1880 Census he is still in Fremont, Waupaca Co, WI with a new wife, Jane, and a stepdaughter, Mary Wylie, and his son Russell. Your Allen doesn't appear with him. The Fremont area is just north of the Winchester & Wolf River areas. These two townships in Winnebago boarder southern boudary of Waupaca County. Your answer could be in Waupaca Co, WI.

    2. Hello, No, I do not have any obits for Anderson so far. If you could provide me with more information I could try to look them up for you. Just give as much info as you possibly can. I would really need at least dates and a location. Then I can do some searching for you. Thanks.

    3. all I know is August Anderson came from Sweden and married a Mary Kay. They had three children in the 1900 census and she was a widow then. Grandfather Gilbert was born in 1885 and went to the census for 1880 and can not find them there. I found ggrandfathers name on grandfathers marriage license. Been a difficult name to research. Also, my kids went to Read School and they have pictures in the stairwell walls of the old school and the renovation it took a few years back. Try contacting the school or school system directly. It is now summer break so you would probably have better luck going directly to the school administration or wait until Sept when school is back in session. They even refinished the oriiginal bell. The man who did this had back connections to the school and he died before it was rehung. Good Luck

    3. I have Craig family from Portage County, and one of them is Althea Craig. They called her Altie. I do not know her aunts and uncles, maybe they could be related. I am interested in where your Craig's came from. My family came from Canada. They were Cornelia Eastling and George W. Craig. George and Cornelia were married in Indiana in 1849 and then relocated to the Almond area in Portage County and raised their family of nine children. Please let me know if any of this sounds familiar. I am always looking for Craig relatives, George and Cornelia are my great great grandparents.
