Hello everyone, I'm researching George Westervelt b.March 1849 in NY. He married Mary Robbins, daughter of Jacob Robbins of NY. The couple married about 1870, but I've not found a marriage record. There is a George Westervelt listed in the 1900, Oshkosh census who matches my George Westervelt, but he's boarding with a Henry M. Mockley and many other boarders. He is listed as married for 30 years, and still married. I find no sign of Mary anywhere. I've also found them living at 258 Vine Street in Oshkosh for the 1912 directory with their daughter Ruth, who was a student. George died in 1928, and is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh along side his wife Mary b. 1852, d. 1917. Is anyone familiar with the Westervelt's? ~Michelle

What section are your people buried in? If you haven't written to them I could check with the office to see what additional records they might have. I haven't been to the courthouse yet either. Will try to check this route this next week for you. My death index book here at home only goes to 1897. Just remember though that it wasn't a law to file the records until Oct 1907. So, if I find nothing, that could be the reason. Janet Eiler
