Though hard to give thee up we would bid thee sleep on sweet little dreamless sleeper, “For of such is the kingdom of Heaven” Oh why should memory, viel’d with gloom, And like a sorrowing mourner craped Sit weeping o’er an empty tomb, When captives have escaped? “Tis but a mound and will be moss’d” When summer grass again appears The loved, though wept, are never lost We only loose our fears.
