It looks like Nicholas and brother Math opened a mfg. plant in Kewaskum in 1875 and it was torn down for apt buildings in 1970s. Nicholas was Mayor of Menasha for 16 years, retiring in 1933. Then from the Sheboygan Press, December 7, 1939, pg. 31 --Nicholas was killed in a car accident at approx. age 70, at Hwy. 150 and 41 outside the city (of Sheboygan?), returning home from a funeral. Send me an email for the exact wording if interested. Also have a short paragraph about H. W. Schmalz who opened a clothing store in Menasha back in the 1930s.

I have been trying to learn what happened to her for quite a long time. Can someone answer this? I have a copy of August ABRAHAM's Deed in Nekimi, dated 10 Sept 1868 (Number 256 in upper left hand corner) . Is the only way to find out when this property was sold is to go to the County Register of Deeds office in Oshkosh? Since August was on the Marion County, MO 1880 census, I imagine he probably sold his land before moving. Lois Bolnic,k, Concord, NH

She is the daughter of August and Caroline ABRAHAM . This would probably be in the 1875-1882 period. August and the rest of the family were on the 1880 Marion County, MO census but Emilie was not with them. I suppose she could have gotten married in another county such as Fond du Lac since Nekimi is near to there. Or she could have just stayed behind for whatever reason. Any leads and idea would be appreciated.Lois Bolnick, Concord, NH
Sometime after 1882 James P McAllister died probably in Omro. Is there a death date, certificate, obit available for him? He was born in New Brunswick around 1822-24, I think. Thanks Anne

My line is from Shadrach and his first wife, Mary, through their son, Shadrach Baldwin Doty. I do not have any photos of either Shadrach, but I did write a book a couple of years ago entitled, "Thirteen Wisconsin Families :Aldrich, Allen, Barber, Doty, Hughes, Mason, Moss, Rennert, Rhoades, Thumb, VanCott, Wilmot and Wylie". The book covers the Doty family from Edward, who arrived in Amrica on the Mayflower, up to my grandmother, Mabel Doty, the daughter of Henry Allen Doty and granddaughter of Shadrach Baldwin Doty.

SSDI had her last known address as Neenah but she may have died elsewhere. You might want to contact someone in Outagamie Co, WI or Calumet Co, WI to look there for you. I am sorry to say that I did not find an obit for her. I will try and get to the courthouse to see if I can find a date for her death or if she even died here. You mentioned the info was found on SSDI....they list last residence known....she could have moved and not reported it to SS. Or another option is that maybe the obit was posted in the Appleton Post Cresent. Neenah/Menasha is closer to Appleton (Outagamie Co) than Oshkosh. I will try and get to courthouse tomorrow (Fri) or for sure on Monday. Kids only have a half day of school tomorrow so I don't know if I will be able to get there tomorrow. Will keep you posted either way though. Janet
