Thanks to Paula, and her quick reply, I now have my Rose McAleer McLEAN confirmed. This is a great list! Rose McALEER first married Grant McLEAN about 1886 and they had one child Mary G. McLEAN on 15 June 1889. Rose was widowed by 1900, and in 1910 both her and her daughter were still in Oshkosh. Rose was working at a laundry. Both census state that Rose only had one child. By 1920 she had remarried to a Mathew SAMPSON. I found them in 1920 and again in 1930. So far I haven't found Mary, the daughter, since 1910, but I haven't given up yet. If anyone is connected to this family, I would love to hear from them. - Karen in BC Canada

Hi all - I am new to the list and have just found whom I think is my great aunt's daughter Rose in Oshkosh, in 1900, and again in the following census. In order to prove who she is, I am wondering if anyone could get a transcription of the birth record for her daughter. I am hoping the record will include the mother's maiden name and the father's name. Her daughter with her in 1900 was Mary G. McCLAIN born June 1889. In Ancestry in the Wisconsin births I am finding a Mary G. LEAN born 15 June 1889 in Winnebago Co. Reel 0313 Record 001696. This is the only one that is close to the right name. According to the census, Rose was widowed by 1900 and only birthed the one child. If anyone can have a look at the birth record and email me the details, I would sure appreciate it. - Karen in BC Canada

These are the only records the church has of them. However, after their marriage in 1873, they just seemed to disappear in to nowhere. I know I sound like a broke record, but I'm desperately seeking directions as to where to go from here. I have no futher information on either of them. Please any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Marv

I am posting this information I found and the original photograph here for those researching her family. I am NOT related to this family. Elizabeth Campbell Bell was born in 1854 or 1855 in Albany, NY, the daughter of Adam E. and Mary F. Bell. In 1856, the family moved to Oshkosh, WI, where Adam was an architect (see http://www.oshkoshpubliclibrary.org/pages/history/architecture.html). Elizabeth married Donald "Daniel" McBride and they are found in Roseville, Placer, California in the 1880 census (see below). At some point, the family moved to Spokane, WA, where both Daniel and Elizabeth died. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Kathleen Grace for transcribing this important census info! My TROW and LeFEVRE ancestors do appear in these listings, although I must point out that there is a consistent misspelling where the LeFevres appear under such spellings as "LaFarer," etc. It's very exciting to see this information posted for the whole world to share, and I wanted to express my appreciation for the tremendous effort that went into putting this project online.
