It was never incorporated as a village to my knowledge, but there was a four-room school, currently used as a community center, etc. Never had its own newspaper; try Oshkosh, Omro or Ripon papers for obits. There is only one cemetery in all of Town of Utica. It is named Liberty Prairie. It was founded abaout 1847, and has been transcribed by the Winnebagoland Genealogical Society.

I believe that the namesake of the town is related to my ancestor. My g-g-great grandfather was Samuel Pickett, originally from Ashford, NY, he lived in the Washington/Dodge County area and then moved to Clark County in 1871. Samuel's heritage is traced back to Connecticut in the late 1600s. I would say 85% or more of the Picketts came from the same common ancestry as well. I have found several of Samuel's brothers and cousins in Wisconsin and believe that Pickett's namesake was one of his cousins as well. Do you know any more history about the town's founding and early years? Thanks!!
