That's in Vol. 1, page 274, document # 1638. Copies of marriage licenses are $7.00. You can get them from the state office in Madison, but it is generally faster to write the Winnebago County Register of Deeds, Vital Records Division, P. O. Box 2808, Oshkosh WI 54903. At this time period it may give you only the names of bride, groom and who presided, but it may give more information. There were other Chases in the area, and some are known to be from New Brunswick Canada.

Rachel, I do not know where you found your Littlefield family in the 1850 Census for Winnebago Co, WI. I looked and all I came up with were these two listings: LITTLEFIELD, Sabiah Bloomingdale Twp Pg #536 LITTLEFORD, Orvilla Rushford Twp Pg #550 Bloomingdale is now known as Omro.....Rushford still exists and is west of Omro. There are a few Littlefield's in the Omro Junction & Omro Union Cemeteries but none of the names you mentioned are in there. Both cemetery readings are online in www.rootsweb.com/~wiwinneb In www.ancestry.com in the Family Tree/World Connect there is a Wentworth Littlefield submitted by a Roger L. Thiemann flyboy2u2@hotmail.com and he lists Sarah's death year as 1869........that would make her death happening in MN if they immigrated there in 1857. Another submission was made by David Robinson haruspex@pobox.com and he has extensive info on Wentworth's son Arthur Benjamin Littlefield, but no death date for Sarah. He has a newpaper article for Arthur's 90th Birthday, Arthur's Obit, and Arthur's Civil War info. One more tidbit.....IF Sarah Ham Littlefield died in Winnebago Co, WI.....her death record was never filed with the county clerk. Sorry I couldn't help you more. ----- Original Message ----- From: <rose0001@hotmail.com> To: <WIWINNEB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 16, 2003 10:36 PM Subject: [WIWinneb'go] Littlefield, Bloomingdale Twnsp, 1850 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Littlefield > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CGC.2ACI/436 > > Message Board Post: > > This is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone has any info. on this Littlefield family in the Bloomingdale Twnshp, Winnebago Co, WI 1850 census: Wentworth (40) and wife Sarah (46, nee Ham), children: S___? valentine thanks for your reply I live in Ohio and have asked in the past about directories and did not receive a response also no access to newspapers from that area and yes - I did write the church - there has been no reply (4 months) nor have they cashed my check - if it's the church I think it is - it is very small and probably don't have time since my request went back over one hundred years - wanted to send something for the help now I don't want to send money willy-nilly without a fairly good idea I'm at the right place thanks for the other guidance and dig I do! as an aside - the marrying parties were Karl Kieper and Emma Freiberg and as I said the families had been in the Black Wolf area for quite some time - about 1883-4 or so for Karl (Charles) and about 1893-4 for Emma cherie On Wed, 14 May 2003 23:02:38 -0500 "... valentine53179" <valentine53179@hotmail.com> writes: > have you contacted the church.. > generally they have some records on who was minister and for what > period of > time... > if the church is no more, i would contact the same denomination > nearest to > it... > for the records... > in this particular case, anything other than the name of the church, > the > name of the mnister or the year is more than is needed... > and since you provided all three i do think you have it covered... > > now if you are asking about the people or parishoners, then you'd > need to > give a bit more...since that is not the case, > i'd say your info and query is right on... > however, there might be the possibility that someone has some > listing, some > data base, something that they cold take a look at for your > surname... > and so it could be in your favor to always include it...just on a > lark... > > here is another idea for ya.... > check an old city directory and look up the church and the > minister's > names... > the directories will tell you who was where... > > and if that does not get you anything, > check on an old newspaper for 1905 > and target christmas or eastertimes... > look at the advertisements for the churches... > they often included the ministers names... > > whatever you do, do not get disgusted.. > bounce back and keep looking... > try everything and keep plugging along... > > valentine > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! have you contacted the church.. generally they have some records on who was minister and for what period of time... if the church is no more, i would contact the same denomination nearest to it... for the records... in this particular case, anything other than the name of the church, the name of the mnister or the year is more than is needed... and since you provided all three i do think you have it covered... now if you are asking about the people or parishoners, then you'd need to give a bit more...since that is not the case, i'd say your info and query is right on... however, there might be the possibility that someone has some listing, some data base, something that they cold take a look at for your surname... and so it could be in your favor to always include it...just on a lark... here is another idea for ya.... check an old city directory and look up the church and the minister's names... the directories will tell you who was where... and if that does not get you anything, check on an old newspaper for 1905 and target christmas or eastertimes... look at the advertisements for the churches... they often included the ministers names... whatever you do, do not get disgusted.. bounce back and keep looking... try everything and keep plugging along... valentine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janet Eiler" <jeiler@new.rr.com> To: <WIWINNEB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 8:53 PM Subject: Re: [WIWinneb'go] Lutheran church in Nekimi in 1905? > You can receive better responses if you include more details like full > names, maiden names, residences, and dates with your inquiries > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <longwayfarm@juno.com> > To: <WIWINNEB-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 1:46 PM > Subject: [WIWinneb'go] Lutheran church in Nekimi in 1905? > > > > My grandparents were married in Nekimi in 1905 by Rev Hermann Ba?e - > > Lutheran minister - would anyone know if he was the minister at the Zion > > Lutheran church? > > they may have married in someone's home > > but I would like to find which church they attended - both lived in > > Black Wolf before and after their marriage > > thank you > > cherie > > > > ________________________________________________________________ > > The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! > > Surf the web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! > > Only $14.95/ month - visit www.juno.com to sign up today! > > > > > > ==== WIWINNEB Mailing List ==== > > This List is dedicated to WINNEBAGO County, Wisconsin.
