The American Local History Network is proud to announce our latest project, founded and developed by Maureen Reed, The New Veteran Ancestor Registry. This project is jointly sponsored by USIGS and the American Local History Network (ALHN). This registry is poised to be a Virtual Monument of it's own. You may submit basic information about your ancestor such as name, rank, unit, whether wounded or killed in action, and where your ancestor was from. You may also submit contact information in the form of email address, URL or snail mail address. Interestingly, they also ask for your source of information - whether personal knowledge for more recent veterans, or pension papers or roster rolls or newspaper articles or even just family tradition. This is an attempt to help you rate the veracity of the information submitted.
