    3. We know that Sylvanus TWIST was in Winchester, Litchfield, CT in 1830, by census record. He moved to Amsterdam, Montgomery, NY and was there in 1840, by census record. He was in Warwarsing, Ulster, NY in 1850, by census record. He and his family were listed in that census as Sylvenus, age 50, lumberman, born CT; Phebe, age 43, born CT; Edward, age 19, Lumberman, born NY; George, age 17, Lumberman, Born NY; Sylvenus, age 15, Lumberman, born NY; Elmira, age 6, Born NY; Charles S., age 4, born NY; Adilade, age 2, born NY. We know, by land records, that Sylvanus Twist of Ulster County, NY bought 80 acres of public land in Wisconsin on December 15, 1855 through the Stevens Point Land Office. He, of Washara County, WI, per land records, bought another 40 acres on April 2, 1857 also through the Stevens Point Land office. Sylvanus and Phebe, per land records, sold 40 acres on September 2, 1858 to, George W. Twist, his son, for $300. He was in Richfield Town, Adams, WI in 1860, by census record as was his son George Wheeler Twist and his son's wife, Lydia. We would like to know where and when Sylvanus was born, who his parents were, who his siblings were, where and when he died, where he was buried. We believe he was born ca 1799, died Richfield Town, WI after 1860. Can anyone help? Jerry Twist
