I found part of my Goodwin family in Menomonee in the 1870 census: Lee, Charles, 36, Farmer $6000 /$1250 ?Prussia Jane S. 40 Keeping house PA Delany, William 22 Farm Laborer PA James 16 Farm Laborer MA Michael 14 Farm laborer NH Lee, Joseph 3 WI Harkley, M. E. 23 Dom. Servant PA Goodwin Joseph 12 MA James 10 MA S. E. 9 MA The mother of those Goodwin children appears to have died. Their father, Michael Goodwin and two older siblings (John & Michael) were living in Milwaukee at this time. I would like to know what happened to Joseph, James and Susan Goodwin, and to learn more about Jane Lee. I suspect her maiden name, as well as a possible first-marriage name, was Delany. She appears as Jane Delany, with sons James & Michael in the 1880 census. And who was William Delany? Michael Delany is still listed in the 1900 Menomonee census with wife, Sarah. A James Goodwin, of approximately right age and born in Massachusetts, is also in the 1900 Census, an undertaker, living in Milwaukee. Thanks for any help, or suggestions !
