    3. I didn't have the Vet. Schedule but here is the what was on the 1900 census for Springwater, Waushara Co, WI Census. ED 114 Sheet#3. I subscribe to the Ancestry.com census images online. They're a pain to go through because they're real slow downloading but as long as I knew the township, it wasn't bad. William Barrington- Born in Ireland in Nov. 1832. He was 68 yrs old and a farmer. His parents were both born in Ireland. He had been married for 26 years. His wife was Mary. She was 44 yrs old and was born in Dec. of 1855 in WI. Her father was born in Germany and her mother was born in New York State. She had 10 children, 7 of whom were living in 1900. The children still at home were Elizabeth, a daughter, b. April 1884 in WI. She was 16 yrs. Couldn't read the son's name. He was born in Aug. 1886 in WI and was 13yrs. Milford, a son, was born in June 1891 in WI and was 9 yrs. Also listed as a boarder was her mother, Catherine Harris. She was born in Nov. 1831 and was 68 yrs. She had 1 child and 1 child was living. She was born in New York State and her parents were both born in New York State. So hope this helps. The following are some other stats. Would think the William born in 1877 could be a son. Maybe he died and they named another son William but the others were young enough, that I would think they would have been living at home in 1900. A puzzle for you. Seems to be a lot of Williams in Waushara Co. for that time. Wisconsin Vital Records Indexes, Pre-1907 Birth Index, Marriages, and Death Index. 1. GENETIC GENEALOGICAL SERVICE
    2. Thought this interesting...from the Ancestry Weekly Digest. MYFAMILY.COM AND RELATIVE GENETICS PARTNER TO DELIVER GENETIC GENEALOGICAL SERVICE MyFamily.com and Relative Genetics, a world-class genomics laboratory and a leader in establishing definitive biologic relationships through DNA testing and analysis, have entered an exclusive partnership to distribute the Ancestry(TM) GenetiKit(TM), the most complete and extensive DNA test available. The partnership and new product combine traditional genealogy with the latest technology making it easier to answer the question: "Where did I come from?" The Ancestry GenetiKit will be introduced at GENTECH, the conference for genealogy and technology in Boston, Massachusetts, on 25 January 2002. The test will be available exclusively through Ancestry.com, a member of the MyFamily.com network, on 25 January and can be ordered online for $219.00. The home collection kit comes with a swab to painlessly and easily collect a sample of cells from the inside of your cheek, which is then returned to the laboratory where DNA testing is completed within a few weeks. The Ancestry GenetiKit can be used to test for paternal-line relationships through a test known as the Surname Test or Y Chromosome Test. The Surname test analyzes twenty-three markers making it the highest resolution commercial Y-chromosome test in the world. These markers identify the provider's genetic identity inherited from his ancestors. Other tests available using the GenetiKit include the Mitochondrial DNA Native American Haplotype Test and Mitochondrial DNA Sequencing Test used for establishing maternal relationships. The genetic identity of the provider will be compared against a database of over nineteen thousand DNA samples, the world's largest database of genetic genealogical samples. The results that will be reported to the provider include an analysis of the provider's personal genetic identity and a comparison with surnames contained in the database to determine relationships. Ancestry.com users can use their personal genetic identity to find other Ancestry.com users who are living relatives. Furthermore, if a match is determined with another sample in the database, the provider will receive ancestral information on that match including a name, place, and date. "By gathering genetic data from populations throughout the world, Relative Genetics and The Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation, in conjunction with development from the BYU Center for Molecular Genealogy, are building the world's largest database of genetic populations. These populations are sorted by place and time so finding out where and when your genetic ancestors may have lived is easier," said Dr. Scott Woodward, PhD., Professor of Microbiology and faculty member of the Molecular Biology Program at Brigham Young University, Laboratory Director of Relative Genetics. Genealogy has traditionally been done using records of people's names in association with dates and places. Almost every genealogist knows that name changes and dates are not recorded and places can be forgotten. Ancestry.com and Relative Genetics have teamed up to help fill in the missing pieces. "You carry within your DNA a record of your ancestry," said Tom Stockham, CEO of MyFamily.com. "The Ancestry GenetiKit test accesses the only record that never gets lost; your genetic heritage, DNA. By combining those DNA records with more than 1.5 billion names we currently have available online, we will offer our customers an unsurpassed ability to build family pedigrees and establish relationships between distant relatives." 1. Do you know a CASWELL or ALBRIGHT in Waushara Co.?
    2. Brian K Luginbill
    3. I have recently joined the list in hopes of finding a clue to my elusive CASWELL family. The 1900 census enumerates the family of Hiram CASWELL in Berlin, Green Lake Co., WI, not too far from the Waushara Co. line. The Warren ALBRIGHT family is listed in Berlin on the same census. I have heard that CASWELL families from Redgranite, and ALBRIGHT families from Poy Sippi attended school in Berlin as recently as the 1950s. I am hoping someone on the list will know something about or know a relative of these two families. Here is the reason: Recently, a cousin found a photo of a man identified as H. CASWELL or H. M. CASWELL. He is said to be 81 years old, and is standing outside with his great-grandson, Clifford ALBRIGHT, who is a small toddler. There is a nice, large farmhouse with dark paint and white window casements in the background. The upper part of each window has a panel of 16 squares. No trees are visible, but there are some small bushes. It is hard to tell the age of the photo, but from the style of clothes and type of photo, I'm guessing it may have been taken sometime between 1915 and 1925. I believe this H. CASWELL, (or H. M.CASWELL, it's hard to read), is a relative of my Electa Jane CASWELL, perhaps a younger brother. From further identification on the back of the photo, it seems that H. CASWELL's oldest daughter married an ALBRIGHT, and they had a son. Apparently, that son had the little boy named Clifford ALBRIGHT. There are no other names mentioned. Here is the exact wording on the back of the photo: "taken on his 81 birthday the littell boy is our grait grand son our oldest girl son boy Clifford Albright and his grandpa" According to census records, Hiram CASWELL was born in Sep 1840 in Indiana. If the photo is of Hiram CASWELL, then it was taken in Sep 1921. I apologize for the length of this query, and thank you for your patience. Absolutely ANY clues or leads, not matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Cheryl Luginbill

    1. RE: LIST RULES
    2. Jan Cortez
    3. I know we all want to do our genealogy - but I need to familiarize those new to the lists with what our policies are. Please have patience with me. Some of you know me as I have been the list administrator for several years. Others do not - as I have just taken over a couple of the lists in the last few months. My name is Jan Cortez and I have been doing genealogy websites and mailing lists for a couple of years now. I actually like to be very informal and not bother you in any way. As long as the lists are moving along and everyone is getting along - I'm happy - but there are some who wish to stick to topic. they are right - that is what the lists are for. The specific topic that they were started for. So here are the rules: 1. Topic needs to be genealogy and history specific to whichever county, state or country list that you are subbed to. If you feel the need to bring other things to the attention of the list - PLEASE clear them with me. 2. Please do not send virus warnings - unless they have been cleared with me. Many of them are hoaxes, getting people to delete needed files from their computers. Many members are new - and haven't experienced these types of mails yet. 3. Chain letters are not allowed. 4. No spamming, flaming, or swearing is allowed. Please try to always be considerate of others feeling. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Many people are newbies to the list and haven't been around forever like some of us. Try to remember back to when you first started and how awesome this all was. 5. Try not to have real lengthy discussions on the list - if you want to pursue the subject matter - try to take it off list. Its only being polite to those that are not interested in the thread. 6. ROLL CALLS will only be called by the List Administrator. I have quite a few lists and some are VERY large. Many going at the same time jam my mailbox big time. If I have become forgetful - send me a note and ask. 7. If you have a complaint against anyone who has posted to the list or their subject matter, please take that up with me - off list. If you don't have my email addy - send a simple note to the list asking for the List administrator to contact you. I will - as soon as I can. I do work though - so give me some time. 8. To unsubscribe to the list send a message to (X's being the name of your specific list) [email protected] with the word unsubscribe in the body of the message. Nothing else. To resub - you follow the same action only using subscribe in the body of the message. the same address using a "D" instead of an "L" if you are in digest form. 9. Problems adhering to these rules will result in a note from me to you personally - trying to resolve the matter. If after honest attempts have been made on both sides and the matter is not resolved - it may result in unsubbing you from the list. So lets try our best to get along. 10. Try to put surnames in the Subject line - and try to give time frames and areas. It really does help... 11. Best rule of them all - Enjoy the list - And post often it gets your message out. Jan Cortez List Administrator
