How about calling the Waushara Co Register of Deeds to verify the certificate exists in the Waushara Co records at(920) 787 0444 (P. O. Box 338, Wautoma WI 54982 or the Wisconsin Bureau of Health Statistics, WI Division of Health, P. O. Box 309, Madison WI 53701. If you are *sure* he died in Waushara Co the county would provide the fastest service, waits of 3-5 months for a state-wide search are not uncommon <groan> Best wishes!! 3. Hello All, The Chicago Park District Administration Building recently moved to new office space, and during the move, *160 old documents were found* that had been used to prove residency in the early 1900's. Many central WI settlers had ancestors with Chicago roots, or descendants who later went there for work, so this website might be of help to someone. The names with identifying information and instructions for claiming a document can be found at http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/press/58.cfm Newberry Library will receive any documents unclaimed by the first of the New Year. with best wishes, Joan M. 3. Dear List, Linda Cates, a volunteer for the Adams County rootsweb site, sent the following message regarding Milwaukee Archdiocese cemetery records. Many WI families have connections to the Milwaukee area so this is exciting news for many researchers. Happy Hunting, Joan Coordinator Adams Co. WIGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiadams/adams.htm and Marquette Co. WIGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimarque/wimarque.htm Professional Genealogist http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwood/resource/r-joanb.htm Remembering 9-11-01...freedom will endure and prevail. ====================================== The Milwaukee Archdiocese has recently put cemetery information on its web site. You can search by surname and also find the names of others buried in the same plot. It provides information on date of death, date of burial, age, marital status and address at time of death, funeral home, name of cemetery and location of grave. So far, I have found information on persons buried at Calvary, Holy Trinity, and Holy Cross cemeteries. There may be others. It says that more data is going to be added. This valuable resource can be found at http://www.cemeteries.org/genealogy/genealogy01.asp

    3. Back from vacation and trying my best to get up to speed and go to work too. <VBG> The main page has been updated to make it a bit more user friendly - needs more work I know - but it all takes time. We are growing so fast and that's great. I've uploaded a bio of Almon and Grace Gragg. Obits for Alfred Eugene Walker, Andew Walker, and Mrs. Ansel Walker, all contributed by Sandi Walker. Naturalizations of Plainfield as reported in the Waushara Argus, as transcribed and contributed by Pam Anderson. A plat map of Plainfield Township, late 1800's - to early 1900's. It's very large and takes a bit to load - but well worth the time if you are researching that area. Also a handbill from the People's bank. These items contributed by Shannon Guenther. A couple of days ago I did some surnames, queries and quite a few photos for the family photo album - so if you haven't stopped by lately - check it all out. Many thanks to the contributors. And stay tuned - much more to go. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwausha/wsctweb.html Jan Waushara County Coordinator

    2. Gary and Claire
    3. Searching for information about some related DECKER, FOLAND, and SCHERMERHORN families who lived in Rock Co, WI, with a connection to Waushara Co. from the mid-1850s onwards. On 1 Oct 1858, Cornelius K. SCHERMERHORN and Jehiel E. DECKER, residents of Rock Co, WI, received a patent to land in Plainfield Twp, Waushara Co, WI. A Reubin DECKER, b NY abt 1814, is living in Plainfield Twp in the 1860 census and was still there in 1880, and may thus be related. Jehiel Evert Decker had a sister Nancy DECKER, who married Egbert J. FOLAND/ E.J. FOLANT, who lived in Beloit, WI (1860, 1870 census). This family moved from NY State to Rock Co, WI between 1856 and 58. Children were Frank C., George W., and Carrie L. Jehiel Evert (J.E.) Decker was b in NY in 1830, and is recorded in the 1850 census in the Town of Rochester, Ulster Co, NY. In the 1860 census he is a resident of the Town of Kingston, DeKalb Co, IL. He married Caroline Augusta BAKER, moved to Buchanan Co, IA about 1867, and died there in 1890. A Cornelius K. Schermerhorn is recorded in land records in Seneca Co NY 1843-46, and a Cornelius K. Schermerhorn was bapt 1818 in Cobleskill, Schoharie Co, NY. However, a "Cornelius S. DECKER", b NY abt. 1820 is in the 1870 and 1880 census in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Wife Jane Elizabeth, children Jonathan, John, Anna, William, Theodore, Anna G., and Cornelius S. Would be very interested to hear from anyone with any knowledge of these people. 1. HARRISON Family of Poy Sippi & Tustin
    2. Been a while since I sent a query to the list, so thought I'd give it a try. My HARRISON's begin in Waushara County in the early 1860's on a homestead between Poy Sippi and Tustin about a mile or less from Lake Poygan, when Samuel Aaron Harrison and his wife, the former Elizabeth Ruth Tackaberry, emigrated from Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada to Wisconsin. They had earlier emigrated from County Wexford, Ireland in 1854, and were married on Christmas Day, 1854 in the farmhome of one of Elizabeth's sisters near Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, just across the border from Vermont. They had several children: Hannah Elizabeth, b. 1856, Coaticook, Quebec, Canada; Martha Jane, b. 1858 in Coaticook; Susan Marie, b. 1860, Smith Falls, Ontario; Samuel Aaron Jr., b. Jan 30, 1861,Smith Falls, Ontario; George William, b. 1863, Smith Falls, Ontario; Benjamin Edward Tackaberry Harrison, b. 1866 on the family farm in Waushara County, WI; and my Grandfather, Cadwallader Joseph Edmund Harrison, b. Dec. 22, 1867, also on the farm in Waushara County, WI, as described above between Poy Sippi & Tustin near Lake Poygan. Most of the family are buried in Poy Sippi Cemetery in Waushara County, WI. Further details available if anyone has any questions. Sincerely, with all good wishes, /S/ Jim Carey Washington, DC Great Grandson of Samuel Aaron Harrison & Elizabeth Ruth Tackaberry of County Wexford, Ireland
