Edwardeen was born in Sauk County WI in 1863. Her mother, "Netty" Hale was born to Orlando or Alonzo Hale in 1842 -census records are in conflict over where - in either NY or IL - most say NY. Netty's mother or stepmother was named Nancy. I have found a family in the 1850 census for Waukesa, town of Summit - which lists a family headed by an Alonzo Hale - carpenter and builder, from NY. No wife, but quite a few children - one 9 year old daughter seems to be named "Ianetti" or "Janetti" - the handwriting is difficult to read. The youngest child Emily is listed as age 2 - born in Wis. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a death of a wife to this HALE. I find "Netty" married in 1860 in Sauk county WI to James Bradt or Bratt - no trace of her or any Hales there in 1850. Orlando or Alonzo Hale was living in Boone county Illinois in 1840 with a brother Oliver - they reportedly left NY to go into the lumber business "out west". Orlando or Alonzo is gone in 1850. This is all I have to go on, I may be on a wild goose chase - but having seen a series of mis-spellings in other census records - I have to try to track this family down. Hope someone has some information that can either confirm or refute this as possibility. Thanks, Denise
