    3. Thank you Ellen and to those who have aslo expressed support,,,and I do hate to keep posting to the site but as I get on the average 2 dozen request daily...my mailbox runneth over so I admit,,I have been posting on each county site for a particular state,,,and keep my subscription open for a week or so , This way I dont miss the request that are sent to this site instead of to me directly. I do enjoy reading the request of others,,and many have much information not directed to my neck of the woods. My work here at Andersonville is to try to connect descendants to their ancestors who were here. There were 45000 prisoners held here. 5 to 6 generations...well..you do the math. With the interest in genealogy ,,especially in the time period of the Civil War...I do this in memorance of the survivors,,,but especially for those 12960 who died here. Andersonville is the National Prisoner of War site and has been an active National Cemetery with burials from February 27 1864 up to yesterday. We still have an average of 150 burials each year. It began as a hobby for me,,but has snowballed into an obsession to keep alive those who gave some,,,and those who gave all to my freedoms with the cost of their freedoms in all American wars since the revolution,,through the Civil War,,,including Union and Confederate POWS...through the Gulf war. I do appreciate all the support I am getting, but its the connections that I can get with researchers like yourself with those who were / are here,,that is my best reward. NOTE: My lisiting on my Wisconsin Atwater Death List is not acting right. I am working on it.
