Hi I just happened to see on the history channel yesterday that Liebau/Lubline is in Poland. It was taken by the Germans in World War II and liberated by the Soviets late in the war. The Soviets installed a puppet government in the city. The Polish government in exile in London protested fiercely but the Allies did nothing about it. The Germans has a labor camp functioning in the castle at Liebau. As the Soviet were approaching, they apparently executed most or all all of the inmates before heading towards the west. One of the things that struck me as I was watching the footage was that the castle really looked like a castle. I am sure you will be able to find information if you start with World War II and work backward. Now if only I could remember what I have to get done today.
