I was told by my father-in-law, that there was TB in Waukesha Co., cows about 1906 - 1907. His brother, Andrew Stigler, contracted TB at that time, and died. It was thought that he acquired it from drinking milk in a Waukesha tavern. He didn't drink alcohol, so drank milk instead. After that happened, the Stigler family herd was checked for TB and found to be ok. It was the first herd in Waukesha Co. to be tested for TB, and found to be negative. This was the Frederick Stigler farm in New Berlin. Mary E. Stigler
