I agree with Pam. Quite often I find discrepencies in the information from Edith, however, it is a great place to start when doing research. Everything should be verified with another source anyway. Over the years of doing this in several different counties, I have found that the guys that make the tombstones make errors as well. So it is hard to say who is the cause of the discrepencies. The church (who often didn't record things until weeks or months after the event) and then they tried to remember. If a public cemetery the same thing happened. The tombstone maker who often put the burial date rather than the death date or the transcriber many years later, who had to rely on their eyesite and what was left over of the 70 year old tombstone. Bottom line, no matter where you get your information, double check or triple check when at all possible.
