Hi Karen; Boy! Did you open a door! How generous of you to offer to do this; thank you very much, from the bottom of my heart. The surnames I would be looking for information on are Dickson/Dixon, Alexander & wife Margaret; and Gale, John & wife Jane. I would be very interested in locating obituaries, and the location of the gravestones, for John and Jane Gale, in Eagle, Waukesha, WI. John d. in Monroe County, but is buried in Eagle with his wife. Jane d. in Waukesha County prior to ca.1875. John & Jane had a daughter, Mary Ann b1855 in Waukesha County after their arrival in America. MaryAnn m. ca 1875 George Marcum, I believe in Waukesha County. You might also find information on a Charles Gale, and a Samuel Gale from this same area, whom I believe might be sons of John & Jane or brothers to John. I know nothing about these 2 men, other than Charles is listed on a census record with them, and I have a funeral card for a Samuel Gale, that came to me within the Gale family photo album. John, Jane, and at least one child, Edward John, came to America ca. 1854, from England, and settled in Eagle I don't know what you might find on my Dickson/Dixon family; but they too immigrated to this area in the mid to late 1850's, they from Scotland. Their daughter, Margaret Hunter Dickson/Dixon is my great grandmother, and was m. to Edward John Gale, my great grandfather, s/o John & Jane above, in Palmyra, WI 4 July 1872. Sometime after this, Edward John and Margaret removed to Kendall, Monroe, WI, as this is where their children were born. Thanks again for your generous offer. I have a copy of the History of Waukesha from the library (I checked one of the copies out). The Menomonee Falls library has cemetery listings for all the cemeteries (Sunnyside,Emmanual,Union,St. Anthonys, St. James, St. Pauls, etc) in the area as well as census info for 1850,55,60,65,70. The MF News is on microfiche back to the early 1900's and is indexed up until the 1930's or so. The library also has a book w/ index called "Memoirs of Waukesha County" and the book/index "Southeastern Wisconsin; Old Milwaukee County" - 4 volume book set (Waukesha County used to be part of Milwaukee County). I can also look up the 1909-1910 Waukesha Directory if anyone needs some addresses. There is also a book on the History of Lannon, Jistory of Sussex and various other history books of Menomonee Falls. Email me if you want anything looked up in this area. Karen >>
