Hi, I am hoping someone can help me find information co cerning my grandmother, Charlotte (Lottie) Sowatzke. According to information found in my grandfather's obituary, my grandfather, August Schalla married Charlotte Sowatzke, April 14, 1886 at Waukesha, WI. I have written to the Waukesha County, Register of Deeds. They told me to contact the State of Wisconsin which I did without any luck. I wrote to the Waukesha County Genealogical Society and the Waukesha County Historical Society and Museum, also without any luck. My grandmother was born August 11, 1868, in East Prussia. I would like to find out where in East Prussia she was born, when she came to America (the year is unclear on the 1920 Census), and if she came alone or with her parents, etc. I would be happy to have any information or suggestions where to find these answers.
