    1. [WIWAUKES] Iceland settlers
    2. I am wondering if anyone else has ancestors from Iceland that settled in the Waukesha area. My great grandmother, Katrin Sigurdsson (Siegerson) came to the US in 1874 with her father and stepmother. A few years later she married Frank STONE in Waukesha and they lived there until the late 1890s. Also I checked out the Waukesha Website and I congratulate all of you working on it for the terrific job you are doing! Joan

    1. [WIWAUKES] Daily life in Brookfield, 1923
    2. Penny Ford
    3. I have added to my family website a couple of pages that might be of interest: 1). The 1914 Plat map of the area around my great great grandfather Sommer farm, which he acquired around 1859. Inherited by my great grandparents Wilhelm Bradee Jr. and his wife Mary Sommer Bradee, this farm is where my grandmother Ella Bradee Ziemer and her siblings grew up. The old red bard and the smokehouse still exist on the Bradee farmstead in Brookfield. 2). We have begun to put online the diary of my great-aunt Cora Bradee. This describes her daily life on the Bradee place in the years 1923 and 1924. The new page is her diary for January, 1923. Several area families are mentioned, including Feerick, Arndt, Mittelsteadt, Ziemer, and Giencke. Hope you enjoy them.
