3. I an looking for data on the family of JOSEPH CASPER (1814-1889) and his wife MARGARET SCHNEIDER (1817-1901). I do not know Joseph's parentage. Both are buried at Holy Apostles Catholic Cemetery, New Berlin, WI. Joseph and Margaret had 5 children that I know of, namely: Catharina (1861-1905) Elizabeth (1845-1871) m. John Lauer Infant Casper (13 Mar 1858 - 13 Mar 1858) Sophia Casper (1851 - 1915), . Louis Schneider Francisco Schneider ( 1853 - ?) What is the relationship between JOSEPH CASPER (1814-1889)(above), and JOSEPH CASPER (1816 - 1889) who m. Margaret Rezai?? I think this second Joseph Casper is the son of JOSEPH CASPER and CATHERINE DENDINGER. Could these be the same person, possibly married twice?? This is very confusing. Thank you for any help. 2. Our JACKSON ancestors came to Summitt, near Oconomowoc in 1849, from Cortland County (towns of Truxton and Homer), New York, soon after immigrating to the USA from northern England. Does anyone know if other families came to Waukesha County from Cortland County around that same time? Barbara

    3. Hi! I have been told that the street addresses in Milwaukee were changed sometime between the 1890 directory and 1935. Does anyone know if this is true and if so how would one determine from the 1890 directory where the location would be now? Thanks, Judy

    2. Hi Judy, I do know that the street numbering system was changed in 1930, and some street names were changed as well. The Milwaukee County Historical Society has a book which allows you to look up the old address and find the changed-to address. Here is there website: http://www.milwaukeecountyhistsoc.org/ Good luck! Sherry in IL (born and raised in Milwaukee!!!)

Hello; If you'd like to see what Jim & I have been doing with our summer this year, please see the website below! :) Hunter Cemetery is an 1840's pioneer cemetery in Bureau County, IL where Jim & I located the gravesite of my 2xgreat grandparents, Nehemiah & Phebe Sampson Parris DeMaranville, in May of this year. The condition of Hunter Cemetery is deplorable, and is not, believe me, the only pioneer cemetery in this country, that has been neglected for decades. It just happens to be very near and dear to our hearts, because of the numerous members of my family buried here. Hunter Cemetery is also in this condition because a farmer, who owned the land in the 1950's & 60's, tried to raze the stones and bury them so that he could plow the ground for farmland. Fortunately, the neighbors in the surrounding area heard about this and stopped him; or this Pioneer Cemetery would be lost forever, just like the fate of so many others in this country. Jim & I have worked several weekends this summer trying to c lear the overgrowth of weeds and dead & fallen trees from Hunter Cemetery, so that eventually, it may be restored to a condition of respectability; not to mention the historic value of a cemetery such as this. Thus far, we have succeeded in clearing about 1/3 of the one-half plus acre of ground; and are very pleased with our results. One Sunday, while working at Hunter Cemetery, we were visitied by our new friends David & Larry Zeller of Zeller Tombstone Repair of Leaf River, Ogle, IL. When we came home yesterday from a weekend of wilderness camping with our son Rob & some of his friends; I found this link in an email message from David. This is not our website, but was place here by our friends, David & Larry Zeller of Leaf River, Ogle, IL. Thank you David! The site is best viewed on Netscape or Internet Explorer, and takes a long time to load. Please be patient. Hunter Cemetery Restoration Project http://www.homestead.com/zellerstombstone/HunterCemetery.html Jim & Mikki Judge P. 1. [WIWAUKES] Rev. George Silver of Waukesha
    2. nancy
    3. Good morning, everyone, Does anyone have any information on a pastor in (the city of?) Waukesha named George Silver? He conducted the marriage of my g-g-grandparents in 1849, but the Waukesha County Historical Society does not seem to have any information on him. I do not know the religious affiliation, but since the parties involved had immigrated from Scotland and Wales, my best guess would be Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian/Anglican, or possibly even Mormon (LDS). Thanks in advance for any help. Nancy in Colorado
