NAN - Saw your earlier post regarding cemetery lookups. Am looking for the following in the North Prairie, Genesee and Mukwonago area: VAN HOUSEN (also spelled VAN HOOSEN, VAN DEUSER) family members, specifically, JACOB and/or LUCINDA. Any info appreciated. - S.E. Williams WilliamsWI@aol.com

Welcome to Ellen Lorrie, which Howards are you researching. I know some from the town of Lisbon. Susan from Waukesha.
--WebTV-Mail-29542-1720 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit I live in New Mexico, would a look-up be possible on my great grandfather's family? I am not looking for him ( Frants Christian Pedersen changed to Frank Christian Peterson ). After 1880 he married in Wisconsin (SE area ). First wife's name was Lyda May Allagad. But this is questionable spelling , it was taken from my grandmother's original SS# app. For grandmother have already checked 2 other areas for birth record ---- the one on SS # app. and the one in memorial book both wrong. She died in early 1890's maybe 1892. They were living in the Waukesha area in 1890's as far as I know. They had 3 children -- Christine, died as a child about 7, (b 188? ) Bert M Peterson, b 1885 d 1960, and Lucille Irene Peterson, b 1887 d 1971. F C Peterson was a blacksmith by trade. He remarried @ 1894 to a Emma F Hanson. This family then moved to New Mexico, Springer. 1896 another child, then about 1907 moved to another part of New Mexico. I can't send for records since I still don't have enough info . Hi Nan Saw your post that mentioned Mukwonago. Maybe you can help me out. I am retired and live in NE Florida now, so it kind of hard to do any Waukesha County research. I am looking for a birth & death date for my wife's grandfather. His name is John Gilbert Mundschau. He was born in the Town of Ottawa, Dousman, in 1863. He married Elizabeth Dorothy Krueger at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Milwaukee on 11 Oct 1887. Elizabeth was born 2 May 1865 in Milwaukee and died 16 Mar 1958 in Mukwonago. She is buried at St. Peter's Cemetery in East Troy, WI. John may have died and been buried in East Troy prior to Elizabeth's death in Mukwonago. She may have been living with a daughter, Alvina Prasser, in Mukwonago. Mrs. Alvina Prasser died in Mukwonago in Jul 1977. P.S. Both my wife and I were born and raised in Waukesha Thanks, Gerald Gallitz ====================================== Nan Hankovich wrote: > Have cemetery records, these are all in the south-southwestern part of the > county. > > Many of these have been cross referenced with newspaper clippings and county > & military records. Welcome Ellen Have been researching Howard family in Waukesha. Know a little bit but would like to know if the Museum in Waukesha has any information or the original burial records of the Pewaukee Cemetery that moved everyone to Prairie Home. Do you have any idea? Thanks Lorrie Howard Oltman , St. Louis, MO. area
Ellen, Welcome! It's great to have someone who is almost local to Waukesha County and, more importantly, has the desire and ambition that I can tell you have. Looking forward to your contributions! Thank you, Bob Congdon, formerly of Waukesha, now of Medford, NJ
Welcome Ellen, Greetings from Michigan! It is great to have you working with/for us. Mary
Thank you to all of your for your kind words of welcome. Just to let you know a little bit more about me..... I have been doing genealogy since I was about 11, maybe a little bit before. Which makes it 25 plus years now.(give or take). (although it hasn't been a solid 25 years, with raising three children. I got a little side tracked for a while) About 3-4 years now I have been using the internet to track down my family. So this stuff is not new to me. My roots are primarily in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Although I do have two branches that settled elsewhere (Minnesota & Iowa). I have been working with Shari on the Manitowoc Gen Site for over a year now (www.2manitowoc.com). I love transcribing and walking cemeteries....when I found out that Jan lived in Michigan and wasn't able to do as much as she wants, I took the liberty to start helping out and eventually Jan talked me into being co-CC for the site. I have a lot of things I want to bring to the county site. My goal is to make the Waukesha County site the best site out there! That is going to be tough though, since Manitowoc is pretty darn good and it has had a huge headstart. I have not checked lately, but it is my guess the Manitowoc Site has pretty close to 2000 webpages now, plus Shari has been out with her digital camera and photographing cemeteries, so we have another whole section of tombstone photos (I think she has about 10-15 cems done now). When I make an update to the site, I add to the what's new page. So look there to see what neat things I added. I am going to try and do something every few days at the least...so keep checking that page to see what's happening. Thanks again for your support all. I look forward to hearing all about your families.
