    3. I have decided to index the yearbooks I have for the senior class of that year and post the index on my website. Then I expect Ellen could add a link to the Waukesha site and people whose family members are mentioned could ask for copies of the info on the person. In the long run I will donate these to the historical society of Waukesha County if they don't have each one -- they did not have too many annuals, it seems to me, when I was there. More as we go. Thanks, Ellen, for all your hard work on the site. Penny Ziemer Ford Looking for Giencke and Mittelsteadt family members, as well as Ziemer and Bradee.

    3. Hi Mary, I have been researching in Kenosha and Racine counties in detail during late July and August of 1850 lately, and there was a bad cholera epidemic in both places. Also there are reports of cholera epidemics in St Louis and Philadelphia in the papers those months. A report from Racine indicated 30-50 deaths a day in August from cholera. I have a fairly healthy suspicion you'll find the same in Waukesha. 3. Bonni, I am in the process of entering the info I have into a master data base. The info comes from on site tours of the cemeteries cross referenced with Historical Society files, Military records, and newspaper obit indexes. The cross references aide with dates and the spelling of names that are hard to read. In addition, the obit index many times gives maiden, spouses and parents names. The goal at this time is to have detailed information through about 1930. At present I am concentrating on the oldest sections of the cemeteries. Many of these are in really bad shape. In the future, I would like to expand the date to 2000 as time and resources permit. St Theresa's Cemetery (Catholic) Henry Schafer 1881-July 11, 1945 Eugene Schafer 1932-1941, son of Henry Schafer Looking through the old Directories I found these. In the Waukesha Co City Directory of 1890-91 City of Waukesha: Busse, Goerke, Keuper City of Oconomowoc: McCormick Brookfield Village: Goerke In the Waukesha Co Farmers & Land Owners Directory 1890-91 Busse: Pewaukee, Lisbon, Brookfield Twps Goerke: Brookfield, Pewaukee Twps Keuper: Brookfield Twp McCormick: Ottawa, Eagle Twps Shafer: Muskego Twp If you would like more details on these I will be happy to send it. 1. [WIWAUKES] Daily life in Brookfield, 1923
    2. Penny Ford
    3. I have added to my family website a couple of pages that might be of interest: 1). The 1914 Plat map of the area around my great great grandfather Sommer farm, which he acquired around 1859. Inherited by my great grandparents Wilhelm Bradee Jr. and his wife Mary Sommer Bradee, this farm is where my grandmother Ella Bradee Ziemer and her siblings grew up. The old red bard and the smokehouse still exist on the Bradee farmstead in Brookfield. 2). We have begun to put online the diary of my great-aunt Cora Bradee. This describes her daily life on the Bradee place in the years 1923 and 1924. The new page is her diary for January, 1923. Several area families are mentioned, including Feerick, Arndt, Mittelsteadt, Ziemer, and Giencke. Hope you enjoy them. My great grandmother, Katrin Sigurdsson (Siegerson) came to the US in 1874 with her father and stepmother. A few years later she married Frank STONE in Waukesha and they lived there until the late 1890s. Also I checked out the Waukesha Website and I congratulate all of you working on it for the terrific job you are doing! Joan
