I wondered if anyone knew where the records for St. John's Lutheran church in Stone Bank are located. I have some baptisms I would like to check out from about 1871-1882. Lenora from Wis. I am looking for any information on the surname, Sowatzke. Other variations are Sowatzka, Sowaske, Sowaska, Savatzki. I have information that my grandmother, Charlotte Sowatzke, came to the United States in 1884, settled in Waukesha, and married my grandfather, August Schalla, there on April 14, 1886. They moved to Pittsville, WI about 1889. If anyone can find any information on any of the variations of the surname, I would appreiciate it. My mother still lives there. I attended Calhoun School, as did my daughters. The subdivsion was once a farm. You can find animal bones (Pig) in the woods behind the house. The only Calhoun listed in New Berlin on the !920 Census in New Berlin was an Edward Calhoun age 43, he was a hired hand on a farm.
