Your work is amazing. Don't want to belabor this, but figured out one of the problems I'm having in finding these people. I use Heritage Quest, through my public library, for the U.S. Census. I decided to find Charles Harms, as you had, in Lyons, Walworth County in the 1900 Census. After trying every spelling of the name Harms without success, I went through Lyons, page by page, line by line, until I found him. Heritage Quest had indexed him as "Harris," and if you look at the original census page, you can see how this happened. I have experienced this before, and it is tedious and hard on the eyes, etc., and you have to know the location. (In this case, I would never have guessed that the Harms family had moved to Lyons.) I know you have Ancestry.com, but they are terribly expensive, and I'm on a fixed income. Do you think they are really worth the subscription?? Many thanks for your research and all your advice.
