Try the German Methodist Church to see if they have any records - baptisms, church records on anniversaries, etc. If their children were baptised there, they probably have some family history there as well. Looks like you can get inter-library loans of the newspapers that have these items as well - so may be worth it to read the articles in full. If you follow the census records, you can get the children of Carl & Frederika, and then the grandchildren. WWII records, then SSDI, then google names, you can probably locate living descendants. Do you have access to census records? Also helpful is: http://www.privateeye.com You can use the free portions to see where people are located, then google them and use Ancestry people search.
