The Octagon House was built by my great great grandfather, Edward Elderkin. He was one of the first lawyers in Walworth County. The house was finished in 1856, just before my aunt Hattie was born. I had the pleasure of seeing the inside and taking pictures a few years ago. There is a lot of family history in that house and Elkhorn. Regards, Janis Elderkin Franchi
