There are three Henry McGill listings for Wisconsin Civil War Units. Henry H. McGill appears to be most likely your Henry McGill. He served in Company F, the "Geneva Independents" from Walworth County. Company F was part of the 4th Wisconsin Cavalry. The 4th Wisconsin Cavalry was originally the 4th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment (Volunteer) until Sept 1863 when the War Department changed the Regiment into a Cavalry unit. If this is your "Henry McGill" and you are interested more of the battles, history, etc of the 4th Cavalry, let me know.
