I assume this is my Horace Scott because out of the other Horace Scotts which lived in Rock Co., WI mine was the only one which did not have a wife. I am pretty sure his wife died by the time he came to WI. Anyhow, Horace Scott lived in Bridgewater, NY 1830 and 1840 so I thought there must be some relation. There were a whole slew of Scott families living in the vicinity of the Blackman's but research shows these Scott's were not from NY. At first I thought maybe Almira (Briggs) Blackman was a sister to Horace, but your message has told me that she was a Briggs. Horace had a sister named Almira, but she was born about 1796. Do you have any info on the Blackman's having any ties to the Scott's or other families of Bridgewater, NY? The children that I know of for my Horace M. Scott are Edmund E. 1821, NY John H. 1836, NY Almira V. 1840, NY The family is first found there in WI - 1855, Bradford Co., WI and Beloit 1860 and Oregon Twp., Dane WI for 1870 and they dissappear. Almira V. Scott 1840, NY is my 2nd great grandmother and she married Isaac Newton JEFFERS and Horace is in their household for 1860, Horace was a physician and by Beloit city directories I find him as a botanical physician. Thanks, Sandy
