He was a woodworker and invented the small wood-turning lathe I was told. Sadly I am removed by one generation too many to know more. Were my mother stillalive she would likely be able to give all manner of details. Of course the geneology of the Burdick Family published c. 1938, THE DESCENDANTS OF ROBERT BURDICK, will likely show the connections between the Burdicks and the Lewises. Three of my six grandchildren are living in Wisconsin, so they are ninth generation residents, although not Burdicks by surname. Regards, Gary Gygax
