I first looked up the marriage certificate - vol 18 pg 57 Married Oct 10, 1908 at Big Foot, WI (next to Fontana & Walworth) John Gors race white, residing in Chenning IL age 20, born in Germany, farmer Father: Gustav Gurr (sp? or Gurs, definitely with a U), born in Germany mother: Henrietta Hulz, born in Germany Mae Lewis race white, residing in Walworth, WI age 18, born in Walworth County, Wisconsin Father: Henry Lewis, born in U.S. Mother: Caroline Burdick, born in Wisconsin witnesses: Mrs J Lewis of Chicago & Abbie Rudman officiating: Mr E. Robeson from Alden, IL Then looked up birth record - vol 1 pg 292: born 10 am on Tuesday Aug 19, 1890 in Fontana Lewis, female father: Henry Lewis, Laborer born in New York mother: Callie Burdick, born in Walworth, WI (no birth record for her here) attending physician: Joseph Maxon (Found these after stacks were closed) Henry B. Lewis died Jul 11, 1894 vol 2 pg 227 Callie J. Lewis died Jan 10, 1898 vol 2 pg 373 1880 Census Walworth, Walworth Co WI Dist 237, pg 15 & 16 many Burdick's listed including: Clark Burdick head age 60 white born NY, father NY, mother NY Mary wife age 47 white born NY, RO, NY Calli dau age 23 white (est yr of birth 1857) born WI, NY,NY Wilson son age 17 white born WI,NY,NY Dellie dau age 14 white born WI,NY.NY Well that's about it :) I hope this answers some questions for you. If you want me to look anything else up (like the death records, which may verify Callie's parents or give Henry's, verify place of birth etc.) let me know. Curious as to all the listings as White and English surnames, sorry that I could not verify Native Indian heritage here. I was wondering perhaps since both parents died Henry 1894 & Caroline (Callie) 1898, that is why the old woman took her in. ~Georgia
