I know adoption and that long ago will be a huge challenge. If that could be found it may be the icing on the cake. And if we get that far, the cooperation of the state of Wisconsin opening adoption records. Oh boy what a long journey for sure. I do know she was buried in Beliot, Wi.. Keep in mind she was married twice John Henry Gors and then Jordon (or variation of such). There are Gors in Walworth still from what I have seen here online. You are so correct and I did not mean to leave out the possiblilty of the Potawatamee and many of them were moved out of the area as well. They with the chippewa moved the Sioux out of the region west from my understanding. Some times the brain moves faster than the fingers here online :-). We are just wrapping up the other side of this family and we always knew we had Cherokee on that side. Will be recieving information from the Cherokee Nation office of tribal affiars this week to finalize the heritage and tribal affiliation.Being a powwow Northern Traditional dancer this has always been my journey to find and bring together the past. We were forutnate not to have to deal with adoptions on this side of the heritage. Now we move forward on Mae Henrietta Lewis on the paternal side of the same family. Well, my fingers are crossed here..I know it really is a shot in the dark but one never knows. I will be in DC in a few weeks on business and I plan to spend a few extra days by going to the National Archives and furthering this search as well. If I find anything will let you know. Again, Thank you for trying. Lee
