Surnames: Walker Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QFC.2ACE/711.27 Message Board Post: Hi Georgia, I am searching for information on my ancestors, George R and Rebecca Walker, who were residents of Whitewater in the 1860's and 1870's. Rebecca Walker died in March, 1872 and George R Walker died in March, 1873. They were both buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee in a family plot. I am wondering if there might be a mention of them, or an obit in a local or county newspaper, or death records at county level, as they were the parents of two prominent Wisconsin politicians. One son, George H Walker was a founder of and later Mayor of Milwakee in 1853. Another son, Isaac P Walker was US Senator for Wisconsin 1848-1855. I have a copy of the 1870 US Census for Whitewater, Walworth County, listing George Walker, 87, and Rebecca, 90, living alone. thank you for your time and efforts, Mike Glenn
