I am trying to get information about a painting I have in my posession. It is a large oil entitled "Ears of Corn" which one first prize in the Wisconsin State Fair or the Walworth County Fair in abt 1886. My grandmother, Nina Kathryn Wylie (Kit Wylie) painted it and supposedly it won first prize in the fair. Family lore says the Wisconsin State Fair but she was from Spring Prairie so I am wondering if it could be the Walworth County Fair. I am quite positive it was the summer of 1886 but it could possibly have been 1885. Can anyone tell me how I might find out about this? Thanks for any help that can be given. It is a beautiful painting and I would like some accurate history about it to include as I pass this on to the next generation. Gay Wickersham Davis
