Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QFC.2ACE/713 Message Board Post: Looking for information on any of the following people although I am deeply interested in finding more information on Mary Holmes Coulter who I believe was closely related to my great-great-grandfather. Mary's death registration says her father's name was Thomas Holmes. If anyone knows of any Irish born people with the Holmes surname, could you let me know where in Ireland your family came from. I believe there were (Irish) Holmes in various parts of Walworth county who were related to my Holmes ancestors. Mary Holmes bca 1830 in Ireland, married James W. Coulter (one source says James was born in Madison County, New York, another says Ireland bca 1837). Mary died in 1906 at Troy Center and is buried at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. James enlisted during the end of the Civil War and died of typhoid at Helena, Arkansas on April 12, 1863 (his residence at the time of his death was Troy, Wisconsin). Jennie Coulter bca 1857 in New York, married a Betts, died in Waukesha in March 1932. Benjamin Coulter bca 1859 in Wisconsin, died in 1932, residence at time of death was Troy Center Hotel. Mary A. Coulter bca 1861 in Wisconsin, married a Kavanaugh, residence was Troy Center in 1932. Thomas Coulter bca 1862 in Wiisconsin, residence Troy Center in 1932.
