Surnames: Atkinson, Deist, Grunewald, Gruenewald, Miller Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QFC.2ACE/714 Message Board Post: My Miller ancestors came from Germany, went to Boston for a short period, and then came to Walworth county in the 1840s where there still are a few remaining relatives. They originally settled in the Troy and East Troy area. The Atkinson's, Deist's, and Grunewald's (also spelled Gruenewald) originally settled in the northeastern part of Walworth county (that would be the Troy and East Troy area) about the 1850s, and like the Miller people, there are still descendants in the original settlement area. With the exception of one grand aunt, I have never met any of my family (all these surnames are on my dad's side of the family). I suspect if I were to visit the area, I might end up talking with a shirt-tail relative and never know it. I have collected a lot of information, paperwork, about my ancestors, but I am still missing quite a bit. I would be very happy to swap information. I am also doing a sideway search instead of just a backward search, so I have information on some of those families as well.
