Whitewater is in the corner right on the county border with Jefferson Co, WI and also very close to Rock Co as well, I would try those also. Happy Hunting!

My results are strange given the info you gave me, I hope this helps you...Strangely enough I did not find any obits or death records for William Thomas Rowe or Margaret Rockefellow Rowe, I looked at 1904-1920. So even if they are buried here or were from here they must have died somewhere else. Marriages: volume 4 page 49 Dec 2, 1874 Henry Rugg to ELLEN MARIA Hunt both of Hebron, IL. married in Linn township, Walworth CO, WI by religious ceremony. volume 3 page 99 Mar 20, 1866 Louisa Rugg to ELHANAN JOHNSON parents of the groom: Joseph & Emily Johnson from Milwaukee, WI parents of the bride: William & Hannah Ruggs volume 4 page 38, #264 Mar 23, 1873 Huldy Rugg to HARVEY INGALLS groom is from Plumes Co, CA born in NY ceremony by justice of the peace Happy Hunting!

Anyway, please don't worry about anyone except Frank Joseph and I don't think you will find anything on him....my elusive one! He married first in Racine 1870, divorced by 1880 (exwife and son with her parents) and I don't know if he remarried, stayed in the area or anything. You have been so gracious with your time... Thank you! Peggy

I also did not have any luck with a death record for George Adolph. As far as George Stirmel died Aug 5, 1996, I will look again...the current records after 1985 are more difficult to look at, as the county is reluctant to give out that info if you are not family. I'll try again later this week when my friend is working there.

Even then they were not required. So unfortunately there is no birth record for Helen Corinne Smith (I looked just to be sure). Having her parents names is great for you so that you can continue going back through the generations. Good Luck and Happy Hunting!

I did check them however just in case but there is no John Shippy listed. There is no marriage record either, even though they are listed from 1839 on, they were not required to file with the county back then. The best place to look would be the cemeteries in Elkhorn, if they are there, then perhaps a church or furneral home would have their records. Happy Hunting!

There is no Dorothy "dolly" Church Hyde listed. She may have died in another place and then brought back to be buried at the cemetery. Many times if they were in Bloomfield township (where I'm from), back then on occasion it was the doctor from Wilmot, WI & Richmond, IL who attended and mistakenly filed them with Kenosha Co or McHenry Co, IL. It may be worth a try. Happy Hunting!

I checked the indexes that run from 1873-2002. I would try to contact the Christian Science church, phone # (262)248-2522 address 333 Broad St. Lake Geneva WI 53147. They should have church records that would give you her membership info, address, exact date of death, any service held, any next of kin that helped with the sevices, and burial site. I'll also check the death records, if they let me since its recent, hopefully today. ~Georgia
If no one has answered your question...Without checking...I'm assuming that this was a census listing for a residential school for the deaf run by the State of Wisconsin. There is a similar school for the blind in Janesville, Rock Co., WI. Both schools have a long history. Both are still in operation today. Serving students K-12 & sometimes beyond with special short courses. They even have their own sports teams, etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim Morrissey" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2003 3:33 PM Subject: [WIWALWOR] Curious Thing > While searching in the <familysearch.org> indexed 1880 census I hit a > guy named William h.
