His step-father and his mother live on Sun Prairie, and are in comfortable circumstances. Some seven years ago, while at home, he lost on of his legs in a threshing machine, on the farm, and has since worn a wooden one. He has for some time been a tin peddlar in the employ of William Stoddard, of this city. He was sometimes away from home for two weeks on business, and was given somewhat to drink." October 19, 1879, The Gazette, Janesville, Wisconsin Mrs. Fogarty, who is also charged with the murder, was arraigned this morning and pleaded not guilty. She briefly protested her innocence of the great transgression and after indulging in a slight weep, was taken back to jail to await her trial. November. 10, 1879, The Gazette, Janesville, Wisconsin The Fogarty Case. A change of venue asked for and granted in the Fogarty murder case, will cause the case to be tried at Elkhorn in Walworth county. The earliest date at which it can be heard is the second week in February, so that the delay will be about two months. Considering Mrs. Fogarty's condition this delay may cause a still further one. December 18, 1879, The Gazette, Janesville, Wisconsin I would like to know how this trial came out. I am also looking for Mrs. Fogarty's first name & maiden name. Please help.

I have changed the opening page on my website. It is written in Danish, but I hope it can help you. I would very much like to see the copy of the Sorensen obit. If you by any change have some further data on Petrea and Hans Sorensen as well as Ernest and Francis, I would be happy to hear about it. The only information I so far have on the Sorensen ancestors in USA, you will find on my homepage: *DANKELEV - * Udvandring til Amerika. Hans

Haven't had too much luck following the McGill line. My grandmother was born Anna Acker on August 29, 1896. She was adopted by the Hulce family in 1900. Her father was Newton Acker b.1863. Her mother was Nellie Mack b. October 10, 1866. I do not have dates on death for either one although I am pretty sure Nellie died in 1897. Family lore has it that Newton had a hand in Nellie's death. I don't know if you can obtain any information on these individuals. Again, thanks so much for helping me Randy

Holt of 1894 fits with my family information as well as the parents. Arthur's siblings are new info as my list was from a faded memory. The other Ray and Carl are definitely not of the same family.I haven't found the Holt family in any of the census indexes though. Arthur is my deceased uncle, died in Duluth, Mn on 27 Feb 1991. Connecticut may be the source of the marriage and births of the other siblings.

They were from Denmark and settled in Chicago, they summered here. Let me know if you want this info. ALSO: My grandparents BEST friends were Ernest and Francis Sorensen. They were from Chicago and retired here just down the street from where I live and I have many fond memories of them. Ernest died when I was growing up and wife Francis nee (Mistalske) born in 1903 lived until 12 Oct 2000. I will take another look in a couple of weeks since I was rushed this time and did not get a chance to look under Bay or Ballou names. Many times people from Whitewater NW corner of Walworth county died in the next county and were buried here, that happened to some of my ancestor's whose surname was UTTER. They were also some of the first settler's of the county and their property became the boundry line for that NW corner of the county-small world. let me know if there is anything else I can look up for you.
