Ther are some Ondells in Wisconsin, but nothing on ancestors from out of Wisconsin. The two with some potential are the parents of Mary Dorothea Ondell (b.1855 in Whitewater, WI) and Lena Elizabeth Ondell (b. 1860 in Whitewater, WI). I do not know the relationship, but there is some based on a number of photos (1800's) showing individuals from the 2 or 3 Wisconsin clans together. Lena's parents died shortly after she was born. She was adopted by a family in Wisconsin having the same last name as Mary's.husband. There are some Norwegian names that may help you. They are: Aandal, Andahl, and similarities. Dick

She married Carl Frank Kresen aka Karl Ferdinand Kresen, b. 10/9/1852 in Germany, d. 1/29/1928 in Wisconsin, buried same. Their son Herman is my grandfather. My Mom thought Minnie’s dad’s name was Henry or Heinrich but Mom’s passed on now. I know the Kresen side settled around the Lake Geneva area and my grandpa lived in Tomahawk before he died. I believe Minnie & Carl married in Germany so I am assuming both families may have settled in the same vicinity. If any of this sounds familiar, I’d appreciate sharing info.

Grandpa Kresen lived in Tomahawk, Lincoln Co, Wisconsin and married Emmy "unknown" after he and my Grandma divorced in the 1940s. Two of his sisters married Zarnstorff brothers, and I don't have any more info on the Zarnstorff line but would like to have it. I've found several distant cousins on this side in the past year but we're all "stuck" trying to find more info about our ancestry. We believe the Kresen surname was changed from something else similar - Kressin, Kresin, etc. I'm in KY and haven't been able to get to WI to do any research. Any help is greatly appreciated!
