    1. Fw: [WIWALWOR] Edwin and Nanny Holm, WilliamsBay?
    2. Gay Davis
    3. I checked the census records for them and found the following: > 1920 Federal Census for Williams Bay Village, Walworth Township, Walworth County, Wisconsin (No date on the sheet but two sheets before this one was dated "8th & 9th of January") > Holm, Edwin A. 40 b Sweden Parents b Sweden Immigrated to US in 1903, Naturalized in 1912 Occupation: Proprietor (He was probably b in 1879 since the census was taken early in Jan) He owned his home with a mortgage Holm, Nanny wife 44 b Sweden Parents b Sweden Immigrated to U.S. in 1893 Naturalized (does not give date) > Children: > Ruth E. age 10 b Wisconsin > Kenneth E. age 6 b Illinois > Madeline 3 3/12 b Wisconsin > 1930 Federal Census for Williams Bay Village, Walworth Township, Walworth County, Wisconsin taken April 9 > Holm, Edwin A. age 50 married at age 27 Immigrated in 1903 Naturalized Holm, Nanny P. age 53 married at age 31 Immigrated in 1894 > Naturalized > Ruth E. age 20 b Wisconsin > Kenneth E. age 17 b Illinois > Madeline E. age 13 b Wisconsin > Edwin owns his home valued at $10,000. They have a radio. He owns and manages a laundry. > You can deduct from this information that Ruth was born after April 9 in 1909; Kenneth was born between Jan 9 and April 9 in 1913, and Madeline was b about Oct 1916. It appears they were married in 1906, probably in Wisconsin. > I hope that helps a bit. > Gay Wickersham Davis > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, March 07, 2004 4:20 PM > Subject: [WIWALWOR] Edwin and Nanny Holm, WilliamsBay? > > > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > > > Classification: Query > > > > Message Board URL: > > > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QFC.2ACE/817 > > > > Message Board Post: > > > > Hi! > > I'm from Sweden and this is an attempt to find one of my relatives in USA. > It's my mother's aunt Nanny Samuelsson married to Edwin Holm. She arrived to > USA in the summer of 1892 together with her sister Emma. Wilmot is a pretty old town. I've often wondered why they would marry in WI instead of IL unless he was living in that state but have yet to discover anything as to his whereabouts after he left the nest. I have found an E. Griswold in the 1860 Wauconda census- She's 14, b. NY & living with A.C. Bangs & his family. This fits the same person who was living with Alonzo & Mira Griswold in NY in 1850. Andrew Bangs & wife signed an affidavit for her when she was claiming pension monies for Norman! It has to be her! Pris

He married Catherine "Kate" Mullen and they had 4 daughters--Mary (married Rudolph Schlesinger), Ellen ( married Warner), Maggie (adopted by Ricewick family) & Josephine. Josephine was born in the Walworth County PoorHouse Aug 1879 and Kate died shortly after. I think Patrick was dead (or just gone) by then. I know he was alive in winwter of 1872--so somewhere between 1872 and 1879 he may have died in Walworth County. Thanks in advance if you can check. Kathleen Baker
