William Seidell, born 12-6-1888, died November 1962, married Helen Schindel, born 12-1-1891 and died September 1972. Both buried at the Walworth Center Cemetery along with one son Ralph. Other son Arthur was alive in 2002, but not talking. Daughter Frieda is missing yet. Reason for my search is, to find out the parents of Helen Schindel Seidell. Father is August Schindel, mother is what I need. Helen is also my grandfathers sister and there are a lot of relatives in the Oconto Falls, area.

I am interested in sharing information with other family and/or researchers. I am particularly interested in what may have happened to the children of Silas and Alseda, as well as their cousins. I have a lovely photograph of Frances Phelps BRIDGEFORD <1899> taken in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. (I have attempted to attach it to this message several times, however, the server keeps timing out.) <FYI, I have found ancestry information for both the PHELPS and BARTLETT lines.>

Delavan Historical Society Press Release Contact: Peggy Rockwell Gleich <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] 608-752-8816 House History Workshop to be presented by The Delavan Historical Society Have you often wondered about the genealogy of the house you live in? Or your grandparents home? What about the property in your town or even in another town? The Delavan Historical Society wants to help you find the history of your historic home and has asked professional preservation consultant, Carol Lohry Cartwright of Whitewater, to speak on Saturday, 13 March. The program will be held at the Community Bank's Community Centre, 820 E. Geneva St. in Delavan. She holds an M.A. in History from the UW-Madison and is a Historic Preservation Consultant since 1985. Ms. Cartwright will provide strategies and examples of how to use local resources to research historic properties. She will also explain how to go about determining the style, age, previous owners, and whether there was any historical interest connected to the property. The similarities to tracking down your family genealogy is remarkable. Carol will discuss how to find more information about the people who lived in the home. She will have examples of properties she has researched in the past and bring copies of her report, "Architectural and Historical Residential Survey Report for the City of Fort Atkinson." Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the program will start at 9:00 sharp. However, pre-registration is required and only a limited number of seats are available. If this program is filled quickly, another one may be scheduled soon. DHS will have books on doing house histories for sale, as well as DHS items: postcards, photos, calendars, maps and other items. Members will be manning tables of various Delavan and area displays. Refreshments will be served. The cost for the program will be $10.00 per person and reservations are necessary. Send a self- addressed and stamped envelope to the Delavan Historical Society, PO Box 746, Delavan WI 53115 and request a workshop flyer. Or you may call Beth Peters at 262-728-5703 or Peggy Gleich via e-mail at: <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] for further information. The Delavan Historical has recently celebrated its first anniversary and is knee-deep into projects. They need more help from the community, more new members and space for their growth. If you have Delavan items you are willing to donate, DHS needs you. If you can volunteer any of these items, please contact an officer. The society is looking forward to another successful year. Dues are $10.00 per year for an individual, $15.00 family, and $25.00 for a contributing membership. You can sign up for a membership at the same time you register for the workshop. Peggy, Is this an all-day thing? The email below mentions that the program starts at 9:00, but it doesn't mention when it ends. Kristi
If she is an Utter, would she be buried in Utters Corner Cemetery, which is really in Rock County? Have you check their website or with their Genealogical Society?
