    3. I am searching for the name of a tavern in Stetsonville that my grandmother owned...Amy Frances LaBelle in the 1930's...I believe she also was the local midwife...She married a Volkman and a Lafe Weir.....Mary in Ca.

    3. Hi Mary: The following is an excerpt from the 100 Year Anniversary Book 1874-1974 for Stetsonville, Little Black and Deer Creek. It doesn't give the name of the tavern at the time, but I thought it might be of interest to you. Fischer's Bar Mrs. Amy Labell started it as a tavern, then Gust Volkman to John Ramminger to Ted Hagen to Joe and Bernice Fischer. Joe and Bernice Fischer began business October 8, 1941. Seven weeks later they had a fire and burned out completely. They rebuilt and resumed their business in their new building on Valentine's day, February 14, 1942.
