I just want to apologize to everyone on this mailing list because I meant to send the message as a private e-mail, and sent it to the list by accident instead. I've never made this type of mistake before, but I guess that there's always a first time. Happy Easter everyone, Bernie
--WebTV-Mail-25574-272 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Hi, I tried looking at different sites, to see if they had any info for you, but no luck. I did see a message from you I think on a few sites that I checked out. I've been looking at different sites for a while now, maybe the past few months or so, off and on, that Cyndi has listed in her lists...Maybe you've been doing that also? The address, in case you hadn't gone through her link page to the different sites is: http://www.cyndislist.com You mentioned churches, of course that era is before my time, but here's an address for where you can view a list of churches that are currently in use, taken from the internet version of the local paper, The Stars News: Area religious services Address: http://www.centralwinews.com/starnews/Services.html Changed: 8:29 AM on Friday, April 21, 2000 I don't know if that's any help to you or not, but once you get to the page, down at the bottom, you can go to other pages of the newspaper, if you'd care to do that. Good luck in finding out any info, Bernie P.s. I spent the past four hours searching the web to see if I could come up with anything for you, but no luck. P.s.s. Some of the sites that I checked out were: distantcousin.com, myfamily.com, ancestry.com, familyhistory.com, and there were others, but I didn't write them down, but they had catchy names also...Something like genweb, or webroots, etc. --WebTV-Mail-25574-272 Content-Disposition: Inline Content-Type: Message/RFC822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Received: from mailsorter-101-6.iap.bryant.webtv.net (209.240.198.40) by storefull-258.iap.bryant.webtv.net with WTV-SMTP; Fri, 21 Apr 2000 08:35:52 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: <WITAYLOR-L-request@rootsweb.com> Received: from lists3.rootsweb.com (lists3.rootsweb.com [206.169.84.39]) by mailsorter-101-6.iap.bryant.webtv.net (8.8.8-wtv-f/ms.dwm.v7+dul2) with ESMTP id IAA22135 for <KA9WDX@webtv.net>; Fri, 21 Apr 2000 08:35:51 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from slist@localhost) by lists3.rootsweb.com (8.9.3/8.9.3) id IAA04824; Fri, 21 Apr 2000 08:35:09 -0700 Resent-Date: Fri, 21 Apr 2000 08:35:09 -0700 X-Original-Sender: ediwas@mtc.net Fri Apr 21 08:35:07 2000 Message-ID: <000701bfaba6$cc2d39a0$25b15ed1@oemcomputer> From: "Emil & Diane Wasniewski" <ediwas@mtc.net> Old-To: "Taylor Co." <WITAYLOR-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Fri, 21 Apr 2000 10:32:21 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.1 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft M
Listers; Paul Kozikowski born Oct 17 1914 died before the 1920 census. His parents Michael and Veronika Kozikowski owned a farm in Roosevelt Township 1914- 1938. Paul's Cert. of death was not found in Taylor Co. so I am hoping someone can tell me where the closest Roman Catholic Church would have been 1914-1920 for burial. Also not knowing the location of Roosevelt Township, would a sick child have been taken to a doctor or hospital in nearby country such as Clark or Chippewa Co.? Any help or advice appreciated; Emil Wasniewski

Looking for Albert Lane, (don't kow much about him), married Lydia C. Flick somewhere in the 1880-90 time area. Lydia came from Clark County. She is my great grandfather's sister. She has moved to Taylor County after her marriage to Albert. I haven't been able to find a marriage certificate in either Jackson nor Clark Counties. Any information on either one of these people and their families would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lori
Hi!. I think this is the first time I have asked for info on this family. Augustus WOOD was born 7 April 1836 in Canada. In 1862 he married Mary COMPEAU. They lived and died in Medford, Taylor Co. Wisconsin. They had 7 children: Margaret, Mary Ann, Gustus, William, George, Sarah and Henry Wood. If anyone else is researching this family history it would make my day hearing from you. I do have other info on this family for anyone interested and I welcome corrections and additions. Thanks, Enjoy! It has been a couple years since I did any research on this family. Was wondering if anyone is researching the family history of Mary C. COMPEAU born 14 March 1847 in Perth, Canada. She married Augustus WOOD from Ontario, Canada. They lived and died in Medford, Taylor Co. Wisconsin. They had 7 children in the marriage. If anyone is interested in this family I would like to hear from them and I do have more info. Hi Listers; I am researching thee families, all related, who had ties to Taylor Co. The are relative of my wife, Diane Kozikowski. Her grandparents were Michael Kozikowski abt 1880-1967 and Veronica Swistak. Michael's sister Catherine Wolycki 1878 - 1964 married Peter Buk. Veronica's sister Antonietta Swistak married a Huk. These families likely lived in the Lublin area abt 1910 through 1950. Thanks to Sara Nuernbrger, Taykor Co, look-up , to who I am grateful for doing a fantastic job of helping me get started and some of the older Kozikowski Children, I have some info mainly on the Kozikowski Family. Any one knowing any details about the HUK and BUK families,or interested in the Kozikowski family please contact me. Thank you, Emil Wasniewski ediwas@mtc.net
Hi, I'm new to this list. Researching Frank ADAMEK, born in Liegnitz, Germany 1865, emigrated to America in 1890. Lived in Rib Lake approximately 1898 until he died from typhoid fever in 1904. Was employed in the tannery in Rib Lake. Wife's name Marie Vogel. Had three daughters, Anna, born 1897, Frieda, born 1899, and Mary, born 1904 and died in 1906. I did have some information on these names, but lost it all when my computer crashed several weeks ago, so would appreciate hearing from anyone who can assist me in receiving birth and death records on Frank Adamek and Mary Adamek. Any information on the whereabouts of Marie Vogel after her husband died in 1904 would be helpful also. Thanks in advance, Roy Czekay http://members.aol.com/rczekay http://familytreemaker.com/users/c/z/e/Roy-Czekay/index.html

Hi List! I live in Norway, and have a grgraunt that emigrated with her husband in 1869. They settled in WI, Shawano co. I found an adress in a family bible: Martha Heather Stetsonville USA R:T Wisconsin This is one of my grgraunts daughters. First I thought that Stetsonville was her surname, but then, after some looking around, I thought that it might be Stetsonville in Taylor CO. So, her given name is Martha, and Surname is Heather. Her maiden name was Martha Larson Can this be right? The letter was written in the 1920s, from Norway to the States. Does anyone recognize the surname Heather? Thank you! Laila Normann Norway

Can someone do a lookup on the Taylor County 1900 census for my great grandmother (Elizabeth Monheim, widow of William Monheim). Any help would be greatly appreciated. mailto: monhei@exis.net Bob Monheim Norfolk, Va
My name is Bob Monheim and I live at 342 Glendale Ave, Norfolk Va 23505. I recently started tracing my family ancestry and discovered my great grandmother (Elizabeth Monheim, widow of William Monheim) was awarded a land patent dated 5/23/1891 for 160 acres in Taylor County, described as follows: Nr. 1/Aliquot parts SE/Sec/Blk 14/ Township 32-N/ Range 2-E/Fract. Sect. N/Meridian 4th principal meridian - 1831 Minnesota/Wisconsin. I was wondering how to determine a street address, to view the above property, with the hope of getting some pictures. Also does anyone know how to determine if a will was probated or existed, to determine the names of other possible children she might of had or access a city directory/census data to get the data. Any help would be greatly appreciated. mailto: monhei@exis.net
